New File Importing Method Implemented for Improved Performance in Kintone
The default file import method on the file import page has been updated to the New File Import Method.
Previously, it used the original method, which caused performance issues in Kintone and resulted in slower operations. The Kintone development team has implemented a more stable importing method to minimize performance issues.
Find out more about this update and its benefits in our August updates.

Mobile Updates
The latest update to the Kintone mobile app for Android now allows users to preview PDF files directly within the app. Before this update, users had to rely on external apps to view PDF attachments. With this enhancement, users can seamlessly review the contents of PDF files without leaving the Kintone mobile app, streamlining their workflow and saving time.
- You need to update your Kintone mobile app to take advantage of this new feature. An update that includes this new feature will be released in October.
- Similar functionality is already available on the Kintone mobile app for iOS.
API Updates
Kintone has updated the Kintone REST API to use standard HTTP status codes for errors. Previously, the API used a non-standard HTTP status code of 520 in case of an error. To improve the clarity and understanding of our users, we are transitioning to standard HTTP status codes.
This change is aimed at enhancing the service's maintainability and stability.
This update was included in the September 2024 updates as one of the preview upcoming new features.

Specification Changes for JavaScript API's Language Property
In Kintone's latest update, the specification changes will be made to the return value of the language property in the JavaScript API to obtain information about logged-in users. Stay informed about these updates to ensure smooth integration and utilization of the Kintone platform.
- If Kintone's language is Traditional Chinese, the return value will change from 'zh' to 'zh-TW'.
- If the language setting is Use web browser settings and Kintone does not support the language used in the web browser, the return value will change to 'en'.
These changes will allow JavaScript to identify the language used in Kintone, even when different languages, such as traditional and simplified Chinese, are used within the same country or region.
