## New Feature Improvements

Streamline Your Record Editing Process with Double-Click Editing  
Introducing a new feature that allows users to edit a record by simply double-clicking on it in the list view, along with the convenience of the fixed Save button below the record.  
The update eliminates the need for users to constantly move the cursor to the right edge of a record or scroll horizontally to access the Edit or Save button. 

Note:  
For apps where you do not want to allow editing records on the record list page, the Inline Record Editing on Record List Views setting introduced in the August updates can prevent the editing. Additionally, an API for this setting is also being developed.

## API Updates

**Obtaining App Icon URLs with JavaScript API**  
Kintone has introduced an enhancement that allows developers to access app icon URLs through the JavaScript API.  
This improvement simplifies providing paths to apps that use icons, such as customizing portals.

Improved API Access for Field Settings  
Our recent product update has made accessing a list of fields and their settings in an app more convenient.  
Previously, you could only access them in the production environment by viewing records or adding privileges. However, after the update, you can access them if you have app management permissions, as well as record viewing or adding privileges.

New API Capabilities for Accessing Referenced App Information  
Certain APIs now allow users to access settings and information from referenced apps, provided they have app management permission for the referenced app.  
App settings that can be accessed by the app administrator of the referenced app include:  
- Information about the referenced app in the lookup field  
- Information about the destination app in related record list fields  
- Information about the copy action to the destination app

## Preview Upcoming New Features

Enhancements to Kintone REST API: Transition to Standard HTTP Status Codes  
Kintone has updated the Kintone REST API to use standard HTTP status codes for errors. Previously, the API used a non-standard HTTP status code of 520 in case of an error. To improve the clarity and understanding of our users, we are transitioning to standard HTTP status codes.  
This change is aimed at enhancing the service's maintainability and stability.  
Here's the schedule for the availability of this update:

- September 2024 updates: Preliminary release through Preview Upcoming New Features.
- October 2024 updates: Official release (with support for Disable New Features).
- November 2024 updates: Disable New Features will no longer be available.

To try out this new feature, users can enable it by adjusting the Preview Upcoming New Features settings on the Update Options page.

## New Features in Development

Our Kintone development team is constantly working on new features.  
Without your prior notice, these new features will be added to Kintone's **New Features in Development**.  
However, you can enable the new features by navigating to **Kintone Administration**, selecting Update Options, and finally deciding on New Features in Development settings. This gives you complete control over the features you want to enable, as they will not be enabled automatically.

Introducing Maintenance Mode: A New Feature in Our App Management Toolkit!  
Check out the latest addition to our app management toolkit: Maintenance Mode.  
This feature lets users temporarily make the app private. When maintenance mode is activated using the Enable Maintenance Mode option in the app settings, regular users (non-admins) won't be able to access the app. However, the app administrator will still have access to the app settings.  
This feature allows administrators to investigate and modify app settings while restricting access to regular users.  
To use this feature, enable it in the Update Options setting in Kintone Administration.

## **Available Update Options **

**Update Options** is a tool that allows administrators to control how Kintone updates are applied. Administrators can choose when to roll out updates to their team using the options.

To access Update Options, click the gear wheel to the left of the search bar and select **Kintone Administration**. Select **Update Options** under **Other.**

For September the following features will be applied to the Update Options:
