AI View Analysis: AI-Powered Summary of Displayed Data
Kintone AI Lab is introducing a new feature that allows for AI analysis and summarization of data displayed in a record view.
This feature enables users to reference record data for topic analysis, identify key records, and generate summary text.
For instance, AI can evaluate the sales activity data collected by your team and generate a straightforward, easy-to-understand summary report. You'll get clear key findings and sales performance metrics at a glance, enabling you to spend less time analyzing numbers and more time taking action.

New Features
UK-Friendly Dates: DD/MM/YYYY Support Added
Kintone has introduced support for the UK-style date format 'DD/MM/YYYY' (day/month/year) to enhance user experience. Now, users can view and enter dates in this familiar format across apps, threads, and other areas within Kintone.
The UK-style date format, which is commonly used in British contexts, is also prevalent in Southeast Asian and Latin American countries.
With this update, users in these regions can more easily manage their data using a date format they are familiar with.
Thai Date Input & Display
It now includes functionality for importing files. When setting up imports, you can choose the date format used in the file: YYYY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YYYY, or DD/MM/YYYY. The default date format depends on the user's language settings.
Decimal Commas: Support for Spanish & Portuguese Users
Numeric values can now use a comma as the decimal separator, matching local conventions (e.g., '1.234,56' instead of '1,234.56'). In regions where Spanish and Portuguese are spoken, the comma is commonly used as the decimal separator, while the period is used as the thousands separator.
From now on, users in these areas will be able to enter and view numerical data in Kintone using the notation they are used to.
Portuguese Number Display

It can now import files. When configuring the import settings, you can choose whether decimal points in file values are represented by a period (.) or a comma (,). The default date format is determined by the user's language settings.
Choose How Records Are Updated on Import
You can now choose whether to overwrite existing records when importing files by selecting the Only add new records option.
File imports are now faster and easier to use.
This update streamlines the importing process, enabling you to focus on individual settings without managing multiple configurations simultaneously.
Previously, specifying a "Key to bulk update" was required to determine whether to overwrite records during the field mapping process.
Simplified File Import with Retry Option
The file import function introduces a new feature that enhances user experience and efficiency.
If any lines remain unimported after the import process, a Retry upload button will now appear on the Imported Files page.
By clicking this button, you can easily navigate to the Import from file page for your target app. This allows you to select a revised file and continue the configuration process while preserving your previous settings.
Say goodbye to the hassle of reconfiguring settings like character encoding and app field mappings every time you re-import a file.
Feature Improvements
Revamping the Front-End Foundation for the "Import from File" Page
The Kintone development team is actively updating the front-end technology foundation, which has been in place since our initial release. This latest enhancement focuses on the Import from file page, resulting in improved layouts and components.
These changes aim to set the stage for future product enhancements, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
Please refer to the previous announcement regarding the App Settings Facelift for a detailed explanation of the changes to the front-end architecture.
New "Import from file" Page
The "month" shown in date formats will now align with the user's selected language preference, including Spanish, Thai, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Previously, users who chose Spanish, Thai, or Portuguese (Brazil) only had the month displayed in English. This update aims to provide a more seamless and intuitive experience.
Mobile Updates
New Password Unmasking Feature on Android
In the latest Android update, you can now unmask your password on the login page.
This feature allows you to see your password as you type, ensuring accuracy, especially in secure environments.
Additionally, if a login attempt fails, users can easily correct only the incorrect part of their password, saving time and enhancing the overall login experience.
- By default, the information is displayed in a masked text format.
- Try out this new feature by updating your mobile app to the version released in early September.
- The iOS version of the Kintone mobile app already has a similar feature available.
Password Reset Now Made Easy on Android!
The Android version of the Kintone mobile app now includes a handy link to the password reset page on the login page!
If you happen to forget your password, you can easily reset it right from the app—no need to reach out to an administrator. This makes things a lot easier for everyone!
Just a quick note: This link will only appear if your administrator has enabled the Allow users to reset their password option.
Note:
- To enjoy the new feature, update your Kintone mobile app. The update was released in early September.
- Similar features were introduced in the iOS version in late August. For more information, refer to the Kintone September updates.
API Updates
Here are the most recent updates to our APIs. For more detailed information, please visit the Developer Network.
Unlock the Power of Dialogs in the JavaScript API
You can now create and display dialogs using the JavaScript API.
This allows you to incorporate images and links, as well as add buttons and input fields for user responses.
With flexible customization options, you can tailor the content and layout to suit your needs, making it more straightforward to create versatile dialogs.
Dialog Creation Example
For text-only dialogs, you can create them more easily using the Creating a confirmation dialog API, which was released in the September update.
Broader Access to User Information via JavaScript API
The JavaScript API for retrieving a user’s department, group, and custom fields now allows fetching information for any user, not just the currently logged-in one.
This enhancement makes it easier to customize functionality based on the details of users other than the one who is logged in, such as those associated with a specific record.
Enhanced Access to Process Management Settings through JavaScript API
The latest update allows you to retrieve process management settings, the current assignee, and available actions via the JavaScript API. This makes it easier to customize based on process management settings and progress.
Easier Field Visibility Management with the Enhanced JavaScript API
Determining if a field is hidden or if a group field is expanded is now easier using the JavaScript API. This improvement simplifies the process of customizing based on the visibility state of the fields.
