We're pleased to announce Kintone has been recognized in the 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise High-Productivity Application Platform as a Service (hpaPaaS).
In this report, Gartner analysts examine the market demand for enterprise application development, deployment, and execution in the cloud, and the vendors who meet these digital business requirements.
This is the third year Gartner has recognized Kintone in its aPaaS report. Year over year, Kintone experienced a significant jump in "ability to execute" relative to others in the report.
According to Gartner’s research, enterprise IT is rapidly developing cloud-based tools with reduced skill requirements. As a result, high-productivity, or rapid application development and deployment platform technology in the cloud continues to see increased market popularity.
We believe Kintone’s competitive edge is attributable to our teamwork-focused platform. More specifically, our platform's rich, collaborative user experience for line of business employees who need to quickly build and deploy custom applications with built-in data sharing and workflow automation. Some of the core features that make this possible are our application generation from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, our drag-and-drop visual composition, and our selection of more than 100 ready-made apps users can choose from.
Kintone’s platform is also accessible to developers and third-party integrators, who can utilize it to create scalable applications with Javascript and open APIs that meet compliance mandates for security and privacy. The platform also allows developers and integrators to provide their clients with solutions that easily handle accountability and integrated process management requirements.
Kintone’s integration rework is being achieved through global iPaaS partners (such as Zapier and Microsoft Flow) and through improvements in APIs, data (enhanced with Elasticsearch) and infrastructure.
Over 8,000 organizations have joined Kintone’s platform, an 80% increase in the last 12 months, with hundreds of dedicated partners and thousands of developers contributing a major role. The Gartner report also found the end-user experience for Kintone is above average based on extensive customer feedback.
“I speak for the entire Kintone team when I say that we are very pleased to participate in this 2018 Magic Quadrant report,” said Kintone CEO Dave Landa. “We’re also very excited about the Application Platform-as-a-Service (aPaaS) market as it continues to grow, expand and evolve at a rapid pace. Companies are beginning to realize what a tremendous impact citizen developers are making on their organizations by quickly creating the applications they need to be successful, while decreasing the IT departments’ ‘to do’ list. Given the many benefits of aPaaS, we’re seeing a lot of untapped market opportunity for the Kintone platform, and low-code solutions across the board.”
